HTC: Social Media Study

HTC is a brand that primarily sells smartphone’s. They are active on social media, having accounts in Facebook(5.9 M Likes), Twitter(1.5 M followers), Youtube(350 K subsribers), as well as having their own blog. We will take a look at their social media, and highlight some things that they do well.



HTC has its largest following on Facebook


HTC posts fairly frequently on each of their social media. Their facebook gets updated daily, while they update their twitter followers daily as well. However, they lack quantity of videos on their youtube channel, having only 3 videos within 2 months. They are most effective through their Facebook posts, as they have the most active likes on that medium. They interact well with their audience, as they try to cater to them. An example would be creating an eSports division to cater to gamers. The main purpose of their posts is to generate interest in the products that HTC sells. HTC is a brand that many people love and generally get positive feedback on all their content.

HTC'S lack of YouTube interaction could hurt them
In conclusion, HTC has a good social media stategy by catering to more specific groups such as gamers. They should focus on making more content for their YouTube, and keep up the current Facebook and twitter updates.
