Apple is a unique brand, as an American multinational technology company with headquarters in California. It’s known for developing, producing, and selling industry leading products such as the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod, the MAC, and the Apple TV. Apple has huge presence on all major social media websites. This includes 12.3 million likes on their Facebook page, 8.27 million Twitter followers, 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, and 454,000 members on the Apple community page on Google+. The objective of this post is to analyze their posting behavior.

On Facebook Apple posts about 1-3 times a day with Apple Music having the highest frequency. They mostly post for major events in the respective industry and for new innovations to their products. Apple tweets more than they post on Facebook tweeting around 4-8 times a day with Apple Music again in the lead of frequency of tweets. On YouTube and Google+ the posts are not that frequent. YouTube is mainly used for updates on new technology releases while Google+ is mainly used for User Generated Content. The most effective social media platform for Apple would be Twitter. This is because Twitter allows them to tweet frequently about all their industries as Apple is in multiple industries and it also allows them to reach the right audience as the generation Apple is targeting is more focused on Twitter. The content Apple posts is mostly industry related and about their products. Apple seems to post to build interest in their followers for new products or just keep them engaged. Apple gets major customer feedback on social media that it wouldn’t be efficient to go through it all.

As seen above, Apple has much more re-tweets and likes on the same post from Twitter than the amount of likes and shares they got on the same Facebook post.

In conclusion, Apple is an innovative brand with not only their products but also their social media efforts. They use Twitter more often that Facebook because they know its more effective for them. They use the 50/50 rule to post about the industry as well as their products. Apple has strong social media presence and this should assist them in their efforts to continue being the leader in technology and electronics.
